Dear Dodgers, As recommended I am pulling the tranny with the engine in my PW (B4) restoration. In the process to make things easier, I unbbolted the top of the transmission case containing the shifter lever and removed it. I am concerned on the appearance of the straight cut gears inside. As one would expect after all those years there would be some wear on the teath.. My question for the day is: How should the gear teeth appear and are they made so that the edge is Slightly rounded off on one side or is that gear wear. how much is normal or tollerable and what is considered too much wear. Are gears available and if so are they exspensive. Also my shifter lever seams to have too much play in that it seams to be sloppy. I think tere is some kind of pin that is insered into the base of the ball mount/ Any help with these concerns is greatly appreciated.
