I remember 9600, and friends of mine have competed to see who had used the oldest piece of computer hardware.
I have used some SUPER old early to mid 80s computers used in plotting, etc, and I remember using a Kaypro II (very early PORTABLE computer 1982 or so, see above) but a friend of mine always beats me as he used to dial into a BBS in 1989-90 on a computer with a thermal paper printer as the visual interface.
I forget the connection speed, but it was old and slow, I think less then 2400 baud.
Whenever I get mad at my computer I try and imagine trying to do half the stuff I do with a thermal printer interface!
Ah dead tech, it makes you wonder!
