Experience required?

I have been reading in this forum for a while about people removing and installing fenders, beds, hoods, cabs, cab floors, etc. Is it as simple as unbolting things and bolting them back in place, or are torches, welders, lots of hours, tons of elbow grease and years of experience required to do this properly? Someday, I would like to restore a PW, but I am new to this and want to know what I might get myself into.
