I'll agree 100% with Marty, NLGI#2 doesn't flow to a low spot and provide adequete lube for closed knuckles. I suppose if the knuckle was assembled with 3 or 4 tubes of #2 grease there would be enough churning to keep grease where you want it. From my background I'd be considered a heavy equipment mechanic having worked in a Mack Truck dealership, Cat Marine engine shop, steel mill, redi-mix/concrete pump truck shop, and transit agency maintenance. I've ssen what proper and improper lubes can do for wearlife of various types of equipment. The semi-fluid chassis grease is the best choice but not the easiest to find. The NLGI#00 or for very warm climates #0 will flow to a low spot and lube the knuckle properly. Heavier lube isn't going to fix a leak and heavy grease will bleed oil past felt seals eventually.
