The day before Bear went to the filming, I noticed that the ameter was not showing a charge when I reved the engine. I suspected that the generator went south so I brought an extra battery just in case. Sure enough, on the second day of shooting, Bear refuses to start after the big car chase. I had the spare battery handy so the down time was only about ten minutes. This kept the smiles going on the directors part.
I finally took Bear into a local Auto Electric place for evaluation. I was hoping that just a brush replacement would fix it. First of all they noticed some spare parts clanking around on the insides of the generator. The old timer there claims that this generator/power steering setup is actually out of an older Cadilac.
Anyway, after waiting five days for a new armetur to be shipped, things are a lot quieter under the hood. I will actually be working with Bear this weekend, so I will keep my fingers crossed.
Best Wishes
