I always thought the "Ziebart" undercoating system was pretty darn good. It was a "dries hard" sealant that looked a lot like tar after it was applied. I also undercoated an awfull lot of Bell System cars & light duty vans with a (soft) petrol product from ZEP and thought it worked quite well also. Both products prevented rust well. The salt used on the roads during the Ohio winters disintegrated the cars before your eyes unless they were undercoated.
