here in CT your footing should be 42 inches deep. like what has been said before, make sure the dirt is compacted very well, thats what holds up the floor.If you can, you can rent a plate compactor and use it for every 4 inches of dirt, or use water, that works very well, just don't make a lot of mud. I would use the compactor then soak it a couple of times. then put the wire mesh (4") and use the fiberglass reinforced concrete. if you put in expansion joints you can control where it will crack, (and most likely it will.)
