My dealership screwed up my tranny at 30000miles and had to replace it. There was a recall on something and they were gonna do me a favor and include my transmission fluid and filter change as part of it whe I took it in. After 3 trips in and out of the dealership because the tranny didnt work right I was pissed to say the least. I decided to check the dipstick on the tranny and it was bone dry. They never refilled the tranny to where it needed to be. They ordered me a new transmission. This was a dealership problem. After that anytime I had something done they went over it with me in the parking lot showing me this and that. I check fluids now before I leave the place.
As for quality control in Mexico. They pay them dirt for wages down there. They are saving so much money in wages that they can take risks that quality isnt good and pay out later for a repair. Your repair cost to them was peanuts compared to paying a union worker his wage to do it right up in Detroit. Still being in conference isnt gonna get you a thing. They'll say they are sorry and that will be the end of it. You laid out the cash and bought the truck. Thats all they wanted.
