another trailer loading question.

i'm almost finished rebuilding my old car trailer to handle the load of a power wagon. to test it i drove my 2002 dodge 2500 extracab shortbed diesel onto the trailer. looks like i have about an inch of suspension travel before it bottoms out.i'm using 25000lb springs.
3 questions: is that enough suspension?
what does a 2500 diesel weigh? and finally, should i susport the rear of the trailer when loading a vehicle when trailer is attached to the tow vehicle? thanks again
