The ramps with a support to hold the rear of the trailer is a good idea, It helps prevent the tongue of the trailer lifting the rear of the tow vehicle and rolling away, I had this happen while loading an enduro race car, when it started to happen i just backed the car up to put the weight back on the truck. I should have also had wheel chocks. The trailer I had was made for 7000 lbs and did not have those supports on the ramps. the car was a 74 dodge monaco with a 400, painted to look like the blues brothers car.
