When I was a kid, we were building a frame building and raiseing the rafters that were 6-12 pitch and 40 ft wide. We were useing the neighbors old 53ish Chev 1.5 ton truck that had a long gin-pole rigged out the back. We were raiseing the first section that had all the extra weight with the cross members, just about the time we got it into position, along came a gust of wind, and over it came. 6 men ran every which way to get out of the way of that huge rafter. The pole came crashing down leaving about a foot and a half crease in the truck cab and bending the pole. The rafter of course was demolished. Tom
