D Townie to W Townie?

Calling all Townie's - is it possible to simply swap axles and hang tcase to convert a 2wd to a 4wd Townie? Or are we talking about frame crossmember, shock mount, steering config changes too? It's Friday, I'm dreaming and there seems to be a lot of guys on the forum this afternoon. Thanks.
