Alternators

I have a 76 dodge with a 6.6 litre 400 V-8 and no air conditioning.... I am thoroughly tired of the crappy aftermarket alternators for this vehicle. I went through two last year... The first one, blew out for some unknown reason just stopped charging the battery late one afternoon, and I ran out of battery juice before I got home...

The second one just replaced last month... The bearings are going bad, and it's only charging at 12.2-12.3. Now I know that people with nice muscle cars and race cars are putting better alternators on their cars. Mine is only a 60 amp, and I'm willing to do anything to find an alternator that will last at least 50,000 miles... I've had the truck 5 years and have been through at least 4 alternators.

Anybody have a suggestion???
