radial tires have a life span that has nothing
to do with miles it is age from date of mfg
4 digit code week.no & year of MFG
6 years is the michelin life - printed in their warranty list and thats it
had to replace all 9 michelin tires on our motor coach (235/85R16 XPS RIB LRE) 25,000 miles - 5 1/2 years prorated adjustment from michelin (replaced new spare also (never seen the light of day but it was over 5 years old)
tires developed circumferential splits at bead (like all at once on a 500 mile trip)
had tread sep on goodyears on 98 windstar
tread looked perfect but tires were over 5 years from date of mfgr
just buy all new tires and dont worry about
it
mike stone - old tireman
