Are you a certified welder ? Will your welds
pass X-Ray and Magnaflux certification ? Are you willing to accept the libability in the event of a tragic accident ? Under Emergency conditions, you will be stressing the truck more than when it was a refer delivery truck. Can you live with your self if someone is injured or killed due to a frame separation ? My answer to the above is, NO. You might also want to check with your state inspection laws. A cut and welded frame might not pass inspection.

Not giving you a hard time, just something to think about. In my case, I would have the running gear moved, professionally. Let them have the libality.
