Installing "A-frame" hoist on Flatbed PW ???

I have a rear winch that I am going to put on top of a flatbed. I also have a huge A-frame hoist the is around 24' long. The question is, from an engineering standpoint where would the best place to anchor the main poles of the a frame to? In front of thw winch or behind it? I have support cables that will attach to the sides of the headache rack, and I want to aleviate as much stress a possible from those cables as I would think that would be the critical failure point.
