My dad told me this story when he worked as a machinist at a coal plant. It seems they had a diesel generator that had been towed to the scrap field and had sat for a long time. The diesel was frozen. He was always looking for challenges. He brought it back to the shop, pulled the injectors and filled them with diesel fuel. Then he loosely installed the injectors. Every day he went out and bumped the starter. Just a bump bump. This went on for several weeks, until the pistons in the diesel moved. Then he removed the fuel in the pistons and reinstalled the injectors. He tried to get anyone to bet he couldn't get it started, but no one would. He applied power to the diesel and after two attempts she roared to life. When he left that job several years later, he said they were still using the diesel. Just a story. Maybe you it will help you. Good luck. Dave.
