I have the same problem with a Massey 65 loader tractor I bought a while back. It would run fine, but would leak diesel into the crankcase when it sat for a while if I forgot to turn the valve on the tank off. It has the diaphram type fuel transfer pump, so that is the first place I looked. No leaks there. The next place to check is the shaft seal on the injector pump. (That appears to be the cause of the problem on mine.) If the shaft seal goes on some brands of pumps, it will allow fuel to leak into the timing cover and back into the pan. Another source of leaks on some systems is a punctured/leaking fuel presure or return line under the valve cover. The mechanic I was quizzing out about my problem said that with the brand of tractors he works with (Ford-New Holland)the injectors are inside the valve covers, and it is fairly common to find a leak there. It was the first place he told me to look.
If it has "hidden" injectors, I would pull the valve cover first, and look for "clean spots" where leaking fuel has washed off the area around it. If the injectors are external, I would see if there is a way to look into the timing cover around where the pump mounts to again check for "clean spots" that would sugest that the pump seal is leaking. Good Luck J.V.L.
