I finally pulled off my clutch, transmission, transfer case swap. I worked on it all last week... Pulled it apart on Tuesday, had to wait for the clutch till thursday nite... (they screwed mine up, and then tried to sell it to me all jacked up..) Get the beast all reassembled only to discover that for some reason the clutch is not completely disengaging from the engine?????
The friction disk, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and the little bushing that goes on the inside of the crankshaft are all new. The clutch is aligned properly the input shaft on the transmission seems to be seated well (everything pulled together tight and didn't have to fight alignments or any bolts being bound up). From what I can tell somewhere along the way the geometry of the clutch linkage has changed and no matter how I adjust the linkage I cannot get the clutch to disengage from the engine far enough to shift gears with the engine running???
Is it possible to tighten the pressure plate too tight, not allowing the release of the friction disk??
Also I checked to make sure that none of the bolt heads were contacting the friction disk everything looks perfectly aligned (obviously something isn't!!) But maybe someone has had this problem before???
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
