I read that post also. I do not know much about the process of plating something with cadimum, but I know that Aliminizing or Spray Welding is a very hot process where the media being sprayed actually welds into the surface of the part being coated. I would hope to find a shop to do the work that works closely with a heat treatment business. If they are in the business of subcontracting for companies like Deere and Caterpillar, hopefully they should know what has to be done to preserve the integrety of the metal. And then when they find out that these rings are for truck wheels, you may hear the line, "We can't help you because of liability reasons."
