Not recommended. This topic has been discussed a number of times on the Suburban forum and most everyone says your better off with a 3/4T and an 8.1L. If you change any part of the drive train, you really have to upgrade all of it or you'll end up with a weak link.
Remember, when towing your GCWR includes EVERYTHING, including occupants, tow vehicle weight AND load.
A cool aspect of the Suburban forum is that #1 Son has collected best of forum stuff at another website, and one of those is a Towing page. Lots of good info.
