You might want to be followed by a tanker truck for the long hauls. I bet that is one thirsty truck. If it were me, I would look for a diesel. I don't know how many miles are on the engine, but at that age, it might be considerable.

I have talked to a couple of people that hauled horses with the suburbans and they liked it. Seemed to have enough weight to stablize the ride.
