I've been working on getting my '47 PW to drive decently (I just got it). After finally getting it started, I found that one of the problems was that it had almost no power, I could go in low range 1st or 2nd and not very well at 2nd. My oil was also grey and about 2 quarts overfull. So I decided it was probably a blown head gasket and so I just got the head off and discovered that about an inch of the gasket was missing between both the 3rd and 4th cylinder and the 5th and 6th cylinder. The 6th piston even had a small lake of antifreeze in it. Other than that everything looked to be in surprisingly good shape besides ring ridges. My question is is just how much would that effect my power, and do you think that that was the only thing causing the grey oil? Also is there anything else I need to look at before I put the head back on? Keep in mind that I basicly just want to get it to run decently, I can't afford a overhaul until later this summer.
Thanks for all the help,
Drew
