Message:   Just throwing some ideas earlier. I am not an auto tranny mechanic. I have one doing a similar noise at this very moment. Guess what no park. (Adjustment I Hope,.!!!)

My noise is the parking pawl clicking as I am out of adjustment or it is broken. So yes, the clicking noise has happened on this one and I have had others. At first blush the description sounded similar to mine. Still does. LOL

Earlier when I posted I had no idea it had been proffesionaly overhauled. I also figured that it "the tranny" had moved some for you, perhaps was not yet driven.

In hindsight I perhaps should have waited for more info or better yet waited for someone who knows a lot more than I on automatic transmissions. (That wouldn't take long)

I may need to check the parking pawl on mine by hand, forceing the engaging. The reason would be due to the different lever length. Yes, I changed levers, but, still I may need to do so, just to verify that it is not broken.

The transplanted 727 came out of a 1989 Dodge van so you can see why they had different length levers for actuating.

Good Luck Gary, I hope it is something simple, then I too will be able to understand. Gordo
