Message:   i flew to chicago sat morn and drove one of these home for my stepson who has a fedex route,for those of you who dont know,its a 2.7 5 cyl turbo diesel,,ive got to tell you this thing flies!!!,you really have to watch the footfeed/speedo,i was doing 85 more than twice without realising it,after a couple of hours im thinking,hum what would it take to put this engine/trans in a dakota?,over 30 mpg im sure,,of course the trick would be to find one wrecked but all there and running,and of course the wiring would be the tuff part(for me anyhow),ive seen used transes for sprinters for over $2000 so hard to say what a engine would cost,but enough to take the fun out of it for sure,still,it was something to think about while driving to take my attn away from my increasingly sore butt!!
