Water Pump: Royal Bear 35, s/n J34157. John Bean Manuf. Co., San Jose, Calif./Lansing, Mich. Division of Food Machinery Corporation. Fire truck body: John Bean Manufacturing, Lansing, Mich. |
I purchased the truck in Paso Robles, Calif. in May of 2015. No cab was on it. But....hope-against-hope... I had a modified WWII Cowling/cab from a Command Car that I thought might fit. It had been on a modified Dodge truck frame that was used as a "camera truck" in the movie Hatari, with John Wayne. After a few measurements.....I found that it would fit perfectly on the brush fire truck frame....and looks to be made just for it. The engine has an odd serial number "N388860 CAI"....but, has a tag that says "NEW FACTORY REBUILT/MoPar ENGINE/MODEL S235". |
