The current evidence of this truck existing is two pieces of paperwork consisting of an owners manual and an "In Transit Certificate" (common carrier delivery receipt). This truck was shipped from Chrysler Corporation, Dodge Truck Plant, Warren Township, Michigan on February 26, 1952. It arrived at Lawlis Motor Company in Levelland, Texas and delivery was accepted with the written signature of "MacDonald". In addition to the information listed in the fields above, additional facts about this truck can be found on the In Transit Certificate. The truck was built with a Deluxe Cab, 900-16 8-ply tires, axle ratio of 5.83:1, shock absorbers in the front only, a Deluxe oil filter, 10-inch clutch, 1600 lb. rated front springs, 3000 rated rear springs, a spare tire carrier, and auxiliary springs (rear overloads?). Because the springs rated at these numbers were the heaviest rated springs offered on a Power-Wagon at the time, and with the addition of auxiliary springs, this truck was probably rated at 9500 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight. Based upon the relatively low shipping weight of the truck at 4775 lbs., it probably was not equipped with a winch, rear PTO, or any other extra weight adding equipment, however it was delivered with a tool kit. If anyone currently knows the whereabouts of truck number 83928701, we would like to here from you.
