Melissa and I are the 3rd owner's of (maybe the 4th) this truck. Somewhere in her history there are rumors she was owned by the military, but we haven't found any evidence of it. Hood River, County, Oregon bought the truck new in 1948 and used for about 25 years. From what we have been told by the 2nd owner Lee Elmgren of Hood River, the county installed a - frame on the front of our truck. It was also used as a pole setter and various other jobs while in county use. Our truck was sold at auction to Lee Elmgren Logging Co. Lee used the truck as a mechanics rig till the company decided it was too slow to go from one jobsite to another, so Lee retired the truck to a 2-acre piece of property, till we purchased her in 2000. Lee used the a - frame to lift and move large parts for his large collection of 1 lung stationary engines around his yard. Melissa and I purchased her through our friend Nick Nichols sight unseen and we brought her to Portland, OR. Our old dodge is finally road worthy after five years of work to get her up and running again.
