This was Salt Lake County Fire Departments first brand new Brush Truck all there other Brush Trucks prior to this one were home built by the fireman on very well used surplus County two wheel drive trucks that did not do well especially in the steep rugged mountains and canyons that surround Salt Lake. In 1952 they bought their second new Power Wagon and is now residing at the Utah Fire Museum. The 52 is in origonal condtion with all the pump and eqipment. It is in very good condtion. The 48 that I have was in service for Salt Lake County until 1974 where it was loaned to the Ibapha Indian Reservation located 60 miles south of Wendover Utah. When I got this truck in 2000 it was in very sad shape however with a little elbow grease and some rust olium paint on her she still runs out very good on the origonal drive train. |
