This Power Wagon was purchased in 1951 by Larry Garner of Idaho. As a back country outfitter and guide in the Idaho Primitive Area (now the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness), he used the PW in support of his business, packing and guiding for the USFS, USGS, and fall hunting season packing and guiding hunters. In 1961 Larry sold the PW to his cousin Russell Cooper of Lucile, Idaho. Russell packed and guided for Larry for many years and also had a small ranch at Lucile, where he raised sheep. He used the PW to access the back country as well as in support of his ranch, hauling feed, building materials and firewood. Russell was an incredible mechanic with a special gift. He could fix anything. He did all of the work on the PW until he passed in 2005. When Russell passed, the PW was given to the current owner, a family member, in Pollock, Idaho. It has remained in the same family since 1951 (68 years), and is being restored by the current owner. It was last running in 2007, no smoke, no knocks or rattles, just purring.
