Dealer installed Galion power lift gate. Not sure when this was installed, but I beleive that it was several years after purchase of truck.
I purchased this truck (e-bay) from the Akron Canton Regional Airport, Akron, OH. They were the original owners of this truck having purchased it new, on 12/19/67, from: Kempthorn Motors, Canton, OH. The original color was yellow. It is now a lime green/yellow, that matches the airport equipment. The hood is painted semi flat black, as are the dash board, firewall, and engine bay. It has a 12 volt alternator, dual master cylinder, and directional signals. The only thing that was missing were the sun visors, the dash board padding, the glove box and door, and the original seat. I have installed an original seat using the original hardware that was still in place. I installed a replacement glove box and door. The original was removed to install a two way radio. The tail gate was replaced with the lift gate, and was discarded or lost. I have a replacement, and I will probably remove the liftgate, as I do not consider it O.E.M. equipment. It also adds approx. 12" to the length of the truck, not to mention the extra weight, and it is UGLY! I also removed the (cracked) rotating beacon that was bolted to the roof, as the truck would not go in my garage with it installed. The truck has small west coast type mirrors, that I am not sure about, though they may have been dealer installed. It has a mopar heater which works well. Original interior light lens is missing. My wife and I are arguing about whether to leave the truck the color that it is (glowing green, I'd call it) or paint it the original color ( Yellow ), or go with my favorite: green with black fenders. I am a traditionalist, and that is the color of the first Dodge P/W that I fell in love with when I was 5 years old, coming home from school, and saw one parked in a driveway, that was owned by a small construction company in my town. I'll fill in the blanks when I get the rest of the information for your form.
