Tim, I'm going through the same stuff. My drums were at 14.190 and I had them cleaned with a pass that would take them to 14.225. I just located a guy here in Denver that does all the antique car stuff that nobody else will touch. Talked to him yesterday and as soon as I can can get him eight shoes, he's going to reline them with some 5/16" lining instead og the stock 1/4". (My lower ecentrics will not let the shoes touch the drum) Material is a fairly soft stuff that will break in easy and stop better than some of the newer hard linings. $60 an axle (4 shoes). He also talked about not nesessarily turning drums ( I need to find out more on that). He's been doing this for 30 years and supplies a break-in procedure for the shoes. He sounds like he knows what he's talking about. I'll post when I get them back as to service, etc. Contact me off line if you'd like his name & number.
