i find that factory parts - brakes in particular are worth the premium price. i have a gmc yukon with 140k miles and just replaced the rotors at 120k. i get the brakes done at the dealer. i dont know if its a combination of better parts and mechanics who work on gmc vehicles everyday, but i get much better results than my mother with her locally serviced yukon. she changes pads about every oil change, i do pads every 15k miles approx.

i think the aftermarket parts might not be made to the same spec as factory. after all, the aftermarket parts suppliers compete on price and they dont service what they sell.

i have been happy with the rotors on my m37 from napa. they have not rusted even in ouside storage of my truck. if seen lesser rotors rust overnight.

by the way, i think front rotors should be changed in pairs to ensure even braking.
