Dan, you still have missed the point again, unless you are with the purchaser and actualy see the buyer transfer the title how do you know it has been transfered? it happens every day in texas, someones buys a car with reg and current plates and fails to transfer it according to the law. Then he gets drunk, get chased, flees the scene. The police see no nothing but the plates and vin on the truck, they run them and guess what, they are still in dans name because he did not witness the transfer in person to make sure he was out of the picture, see aaa post, it might make you think about getting a call in the middle of the night saying dan, your truck has been involved in a colsion can you come down for a breatherilzer, it happens, get informed, lot of these guys like to buy truck with no title and take it to their home state to reg it there, then it is up to them to fill out the papperwork when they want. Still no one has said he sould have waitied, changed the title out of his name before releasing the truck. question i have in back of my mind is was truck ever in his name as well or just the tags? Can you put tags on another truck in wa?
