I have a similar situation with my 79 Powerwagon with a 360. I've owned the truck since new and it seems to have always had the problem. It has an aftermarket intake and carb which has been changed a couple times during the life of the truck. I added an electric fuel pump to back up the mechanical fuel pump. When I jump in the truck in the morning, I flip the fuel pump on and let it build pressure...pump the gas a couple times and she'll fire right up.
