It's not tough to take off the linkage and free it up, then reinstall that and trash the slave cylinder. The mechanical linkage is infinitely adjustable and you can adjust the clutch until you get it where you want. Master/slave clutches are the standard now because they are cheaper to make and easier to install at the factory.
