It's too bad the auto industry went away from making real trucks and real engines. Some of the V8s made in the '50s and '60s were major power houses off the showroom floor. I remember a '55 plymouth my dad bought brand new that would leave rubber for a block and a half. And the higher quality fuel allowed 20+ mpg. In the fifties they would have gas wars in southern Calif. and you could buy 98 octane fuel for .17 cents per gal. Anyway, I'm starting to show my age and ramble.
