Yeah, I have some finishing work to do. I have a 2-inch-wide strip to add at the two points with holes that will connect the two mounts as a torque moderator and safety strap, drill some holes in the bolt heads that bolt to the bellhousing for mechanics wire to secure the bolts.
I've figured out what I want to do up front, I'm going to use an M37 TC mount that uses two insulators, one below and one above with the spacer for the bolt that mount that mounts the 230 engine, so when I tighten the bolt, it won't over tighten the insulators. I’ll “V” at one end of a 3/8 x 2” wide flat stock for mounting on the block, cut off the ends of the M37 mount, run the flat stock along the block and weld to the M37 ends. Then I’m coming off the two mount bolts at the front of the engine and connect to the flat stock. I think that will work fine for front mounts, at least that’s my plan. So far, I’m pleased with the conversion, plenty of room to access No:7 plug, carb sets level, a critical factor to me, and plenty of room between engine and cowl. See images. Thanks Bob!
