Apply a generous coat of Mineral Oil (I used my orchard sprayer to apply), allow it to soak in, wipe excess off after soaking in a day or two.
Wipe down with another coat with rag few weeks later.
Apply additional coats couple times a year depending on time spent in the elements, sun, rain, snow. Over application will allow dust to collect needing to be sprayed off with hose or left in rain to eliminate dirt/dust.
