I went out and double-checked the water pump and engine block dimensions just now. The 251 (soon to be 265) block is 2-1/4"longer than the 230 block, and the 251 water pump setup is 1-1/4" longer, for a total of 3-1/2" of extra length. I really don't think there is enough room to accommodate that with the original 230 radiator setup. I'm thinking I'll need to buy a custom-made radiator. Although, ad I said before, let me know if I'm missing something. I'm definitely all ears!

I remember reading about one of the long-time members of the Power Wagon community, who is no longer with us, who did the conversion from 230 to 265 on a number of Power Wagons. He supposedly made incremental adjustments to the placement of the cab, engine mounts, radiator mount, hood, radiator cowl etc., moving each one a small amount, perhaps enlarging some of the mounting holes, and he was able to gain the clearance needed between the fan and the stock 230 radiator, with the final product still looking like it was meant to be that way from the factory. I had dismissed the idea, thinking it sounded like a lot of work and also thinking it wouldn't look right in the end, but maybe I should revisit that approach.
