Issue carb would run out of fuel in the bowl.
1) Replace plastic gas filter at the tank and cleaned stone filter at the carb, stone very new. Did see flakes in the filters and glass bowls, including the fuel pump.
2) Replaced fuel pump with one refurbished by a member here. I think the pump on the engine was from him as well. original pump had 5-5.5 pressure. New pump 2-3.
3) removed carb and measured float setting. was .105, set to .078=5/64
Started right up. I only idled for a few min
as the Calif wind and storm is picking up and all the exhaust coming back into the garage. Not sure how much effect the float setting has but all the flakes cause me to think. Not sure how they could get past the filters and the truck doesn't drive much. Thoughts?
