interesting! they must be newer...the ones i blew up were machined steel and did not have the band of hard metal like in your picture! I wonder why the diameter was larger too? possibly because of the stress factor? I always thought it was kinda weird that you would have to remove the hub just to change a tire? possibly the clutch part was a carry over from an hub for a different truck application? I suppose the steel wrap was strong enough to hold the clutch together ? I still have a set or two at the shop, im gonna check them out!
