I am by nature a worrier. Is the glass half-full or half-empty? Far as I'm concerned it doesn't matter 'cause it probably has a leak and somebody is going to come along and knock if off the counter before too long anyway.

SO - with that in mind...

I have a 1942 WC-54. Tires need replaced (very worn Wrangler AT's - too small to begin with anyway) & shocks need re-built, (but from all I've heard they don't have much affect on the ride anyway). I have only driven it on pavement and except for a 1968 GMC single-axle dump (10 ton payload) this has been the roughest driving vehicle I've experienced.

Not talking about the steering, but the jarring, shake rattle & roll when it goes over the rises left in asphalt by buses and train tracks and manhole covers, etc.

I know it should handle nothing like the current crop of S.U.V.'s but it scares me that, (don't laugh) I'm going to damage the old girl if I drive it over 25 m.p.h.

What does a frame-off resto drive like?
