Sean: If the shocks are shot it will bounce quite a bit more than usual. As the tires are worn, putting on new shocks and new radials will make a dramatic difference in the ride. Just don't inflate them too high.

Is the front end toe in set right? Tie rod ends shot? Knuckle steering bearings shot or loose? My '48 has the NDT's and it indeed rides rough. Especially with those 8 ply rated bias NDT's. Although not practical, about 1000 pounds in the back makes it ride like it's on a cloud!

After a while you'll learn to develop the "PW crouch". Thats driving while leaning a bit forward to keep your back off the seat. Sort of a human shock absorber. A no charge air ride seat in a sense. Makes other drivers wonder what the hell's wrong with that guy in the old truck. The PW crouch is the only Dodge Factory approved method to drink coffee in a moving PW. It's all part of the PW fashion statement. Err, mistique..
