I am with Doc Dave on this. All my trucks and diesel jeep were taken down to bare frame, blasted bright and shiny then shot with PPG
Catalyzed Epoxy Primer then top coated with PPG Catalyzed Urethane ( Chassis Black). Nothing ever peeled. This is the proper way to
handle rust. I have never understood why anyone would want to Paint over Rust. Get rid of rust or it will come back and haunt you. Sure it takes longer but the job is done for decades of time.
