When I bought mine, it hadn't been registered in over 10 years. After negotiating with the owner, I went to the closest DMV and got it registered in my name. Then a week later I picked it up. After 3 years of working on it on non op, I got some new plates and had them added to the title. the old plates that were part of the registration were long gone. I would talk to the DMV in your state to find what they need then work with the seller to get it registered in your name in his state. If unwilling to do that, you may have a parts truck only
