I have found this site to be full of stand up folks who don't mind if I ramble for a short minute. My Mom passed away on Thanksgiving day. She hadn't really been my real mom for 3-5 years with Alzheimer disease. She passed on from old age, 94, before the Alzheimer did her in. I am not sad, more relieved for her. It took me 3 years to get real emotional after my Dad went three years ago. My Dad was the brains of the family but my mom ruled the home and gave my Dad and our family class. She didn't get to excited about the old cars, but I think she enjoyed going out to lunch with my me, wife and Dad in the 56 Chevy. One time she laid down the law when I brought a rough 55 Chevy home with a V8 that I had traded off my pristine first car, a 55 Chevy with a rebuilt 6. She told me I could not park that car in front of our house without getting the front seat recovered. Over the years everyone went to her house for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. As the family grew and we got married and our kids got married, Grandmas' house was the place everyone still wanted to go even with the growing demands of expanded families. RIP Mom, You really raised us right and I try to pass those lessons along. She even wrote me a letter when she met my wife and called her a remarkable young woman, She sure was right.
