I did the same thing. On blocks, Got the engine running and ran thru the gears. Was more than a year after that that I finally took a drive on the road. It was during the static running I blew out a freeze plug on the side of the engine because it wasn't dimpled enough. Even at my advanced age, it was a thrill so see it all running and working. Speaking of age, my buddy and I went to the softball batting cages. It had been at least 25 years since I swung a bat. At 68 years, both of us were still hitting ball and many were whacked pretty good. My friend actually went to the 70mph and hit some of those hos first try. I tried one round in the 40 mph and barely made contact. We both are feeling so good we may look for a 50 and over team and show those youngster a thing or two.Sorry, I just had to brag. Same thrill as getting a power wagon running.
