Totally agree with you Jerry
Some people have no common sense
When they are predicting record cold temps prepare for them, insulate what you can, run the water every hour to two, flushing any areas water is starting to freeze
Get oil lamps out with extra oil, keep fridge closed, add blankets, close off rooms to maintain heat in central areas, add Kerosene or additive to diesel since it is all #2 in Texas and will jell in 20's, help others and stop relying on Gov. to wipe your nose.
We build for Hurricanes on the Texas Coast, building code also requires insulation pipes in attic for the first 4-5 feet where most PVC/CPVC, copper and galvanized pipes freezes, PEX will expand and not break
