We winterize the cabin on the lake every winter.
Shut off water, drain water heater hook-up compressor to water heater building pressure to about 50 psi and opens each faucet like bleeding breaks, never had any broken lines in 40+ years. Then flush toilet filling with a alcohol base antifreeze so it doesn't get glycol in leach bed. Gone through -15 degrees that I know of.
